2 week check up

Happy 2 weeks little Wesley!

 

We braved the wind & rain to get to our first pediatric appointment this morning ... he was such a good sport. At the appointment I learned that Wesley had gained a whole pound + 1 oz! He is now weighing 8lbs 13oz and the doctor was not only surprised but thrilled, as am I. She told me that they like to see that babies are back to their birth weight at 2 weeks, and we achieved that and then some :) Guess all my worrying about whether he was "eating" enough was wasted energy. He has grown 1 inch to 21.5". She was also impressed with how strong he was already. 

Since he is growing so well and is gaining weight, we were given "permission" to let him sleep as long as he'd like at night - woo hoo! Up until now, I had been waking him up every 2-3 hours to feed at night but going forward we will let him sleep as long as he wants and he will dictate the night feedings. I'll stick to feeding him every 2-3 hours during the day to keep up his schedule. 

Here's how he is measuring:

• 90% for length (21.5")
• 59% for weight (b/c he is so long - 8lb 13oz)
• 80% for head circumference (14.5")

Here's to a happy healthy boy! Couldn't be happier :)
