This past weekend we set off to Half Moon Bay for our last
planned weekend away as a twosome ... a "baby moon", if you will. It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing, everything we hoped for.
HMB was foggy and comfortable (not too cold but brisk) and allowed us a break from the heat which we needed. We both love everything about living in the East Bay but do miss the coast on occasion so it was nice to be there over the weekend. We stayed at the
Oceano Hotel & Spa (
thanks for the recommendation, Anna) and had no complaints about the hotel. Views were great, finishes were nice and the room was very comfortable. Here are a few pictures from the weekend...

our room - so comfy and cozy with the fireplace and very spacious too |
Saturday, after a long lazy morning of coffee and lounging by the fire, we set out for lunch and a little exploring around Half Moon Bay. We went to the famous
Sam's Chowder House for lunch and it did not disappoint.

Adam and I both got the Manhattan clam chowder (one of my favs) & shared Old Bay fries :) |
 |
so good! |
After lunch we headed downtown (sorry, didn't take any pictures) and then on to the Ritz.

 |
we had drinks at the Ritz (well Adam did), watched the golf tournament and enjoyed the view |
Saturday night we decided to stay in and order room service and relax some more - I don't remember the last I did that. Sunday morning we got up grabbed coffee and went for a walk along the pier and around our hotel before heading to breakfast then hitting the road home.

lots of fishing boats open for business early in the morning |

I really need to get better about pictures |
It was a wonderful weekend away and we really took full advantage of having no agenda, and nothing but time to relax and reflect about everything we've done together and what adventures lie ahead for us. 7 weeks and counting...
